چکیده
OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency of proptosis and associations with demographic, clinical hematological characteristics acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children. METHODS: This descriptive study was conducted at Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from January 2018 to July 2020. Patients AML between 1-12 years age who presented without orbital granulocytic sarcomas (OGS), selected by non-probability convenience sampling technique were evaluated for proptosis. classified into different subtypes according French-American-British (FAB) classification. Cytogenetic studies karyotyping done identify genetic abnormalities associated AML. Kaplan- Meier survival analysis used analyze overall patients. RESULTS: Out 230 patients diagnosed AML, 34 (14.78%) Mean presentation 6.80±3.69 years, male-female ratio 2.1:1. Proptosis unilateral 19 (55%) bilateral 15 (45%) Ten (29.40 %) primarily while 24 (71%) systemic features leukemia. Overall AML-M2 found 102 (44.3%) cases other types observed 128 (55.6%) cases. Most common FAB subtype (n=26; 76%). Median duration OGS 867 days as compared 353 OGS. CONCLUSION: is a frequent finding children Survival better than
